To provide Selectra's Tempo and EJP electricity tariff subscribers with real-time, accurate daily price status updates and proactive notifications, enabling them to optimize their energy consumption and reduce costs.

Selectra France caters to millions of users, helping them navigate complex energy tariffs. The Tempo and EJP contracts are specific pricing schemes where electricity costs fluctuate significantly based on the 'day status' (e.g., Tempo Blue, White, Red; EJP/Non-EJP days). For subscribers to these contracts, knowing the next day's status is critical for managing their usage and avoiding high bills.
Challenge
The primary challenge was ensuring timely and highly accurate delivery of daily electricity tariff status (Tempo color or EJP day) to users. These updates are crucial for users to make informed decisions about their energy consumption. Any delay or inaccuracy could lead to significant financial implications for the end-user. Furthermore, the notification system needed to be robust and reliable to proactively alert users, especially for high-cost days, without being intrusive.

Solution
Snow Digital developed the dedicated Tempo / EJP mobile application for Selectra. This app features direct API integration with relevant energy providers to pull daily tariff status. We engineered a robust backend system to process this data and a highly reliable push notification service that alerts users proactively, typically a day in advance, for high-cost days. The app also includes features to track remaining days in each tariff category and historical day statuses, empowering users with comprehensive data for smarter energy management.
